Raju Dayani, with over four decades of dynamic expertise spanning various business functions, including sales & marketing, business finance, and manufacturing operations, possesses a robust skill set essential for a professional in mergers and acquisitions. His leadership roles as the Managing Director at Saint-Gobain for 15 years and his tenure at prominent organizations like Reliance Communications, Gunnebo India, and Xerox India for over 14 years have equipped him with the necessary experience and skills required for M&A activities.

In transformative roles at Saint-Gobain Weber and Gunnebo India, Raju spearheaded the successful turnaround of decade-old, loss-making companies, showcasing his proficiency in restructuring and driving profitable growth scenarios. Nicholas Roberts     Partner

Nicholas Roberts has four decades of international management experience across 3 continents. Through his career he has worked in 12 different countries, including General Manager  & Managing Director positions in 7 of these for the MNCs Schlumberger NV, Racal Electronics plc., Williams plc & Gunnebo AB. His business expertise encompasses manufacturing, product distribution, system integration and services - both B2B and B2C. Between senior management roles he worked in business development including M&A but also establishing international distribution and partner management across, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia. 

 

His M&A experience started with Racal Electronics in Europe and  continued with Williams Group in Asia, where he worked with their renowned “Black BMW” M&A team and then continued with Gunnebo Group. He has significant experience in acquisition negotiation, due diligence, contracts and the subsequent business integration. He was instrumental in the acquisition for Gunnebo of Steelage Industries Ltd. in India, where he was subsequently appointed as Managing Director for 5 years during which time he very successfully re-invigorated the business, growing the turnover multiple times and making India the “jewel in the crown” of Gunnebo Group. He has been closely involved in more than 10 successful major acquisitions and many more due diligence activities. 

 

Nick understands that first the acquisition target must be a good fit for the existing business and also with the strategic objectives of the acquiring company. Then comprehensive due diligence - legal, financial and operational is imperative, especially in jurisdictions such as India where the ways of working may be very different. Finally,  most importantly and why many acquisitions don’t reach their potential, is taking full management control of the acquired business and its successful integration into the systems and management culture of the acquirer. With his broad experience Nick has strong competence across this full M&A process.
